Comparing Energy Cost
Linear fluorescent light fixtures replace 465 Watt Metal Halide and high pressure sodium lighting one-for-one. Linear fluorescent lights are also dimmable and can be switched on using occupancy sensors. Most warehouses have areas that are not occupied all of the time, however since HID lighting is not instant on, the fixtures have to be powered all the time. Linear fluorescents on the other hand can be switched and only powered on when someone enters the area. Replacing HID fixtures with occupancy switched linear fluorescent lighting will result in additional cost and energy savings.
